RB Jones Inc., a managing general underwriting unit of H.W. Kaufman Group, said Tuesday it has created a professional liability division, RB Jones Professional.
Michael Muglia will be the new unit’s director. He was previously national underwriting director, professional liability, for Kaufman’s Burns & Wilcox national underwriting unit, according to a statement. He will report to RB Jones Managing Director Mark Engel.
The new unit will immediately introduce several programs, including ProConstruct, which provides professional liability coverage to a broad range of construction professionals. Further expansion of professional products is planned for the coming months, the statement said.
Burns & Wilcox won Business Insurance’s 2022 U.S. Insurance Award for underwriting team of the year based on the ProConstruct program.
RB Jones said last month it is introducing a solar commercial insurance program for developers, independent power producers and small utility companies.
