Community engagement art event looks to achieve gender justice at USask – News

Students, staff, faculty and alumni, as well as members of the community, will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience by making art on gender justice and discussing what can help make USask a more welcoming place for all. SUM Theatre will also be presenting a verbatim reading performance of a thematic script developed from previously gathered and anonymized interview and focus-group responses.

Pieces created at the event’s art maker space — facilitated by Betsy Rosenwald and Dawna Rose in conjunction with their exhibition Journal of the Plague Year(s) at the Remai Modern — may be used, with written permission of the creator, to illustrate the President’s Advisory Council on the Status of Women final report on campus climate.

Event details:
Date: Thursday, January 5, 2023
Time: 5-8 pm.
Location: Remai Modern Connect Gallery, 102 Spadina Crescent E.
Special guest: Glenis Joyce, founding member of USask’s President’s Advisory Council on the Status of Women

Interviewees will be available on site to speak with members of the media.
